Step by step

Remove yourself from AtData

8 steps. Use the official site in a normal browser and follow its current instructions if a human check fails.

  1. 01

    Locate your email on AtData

If you want to confirm AtData has your data before opting out, you can search for your name and email on atdata.com (their consumer search page). However, this step is optional; you can proceed directly to the opt-out form if you prefer.

  2. 02

    Visit the opt-out form

Go to instantdata.atdata.com/optout. Note the URL carefully: it uses the "instantdata" subdomain, not the main atdata.com. Check your address bar to ensure you are on the correct, official AtData domain before entering personal information.

  3. 03

    Enter your email address

Type the email address you want to remove from AtData's marketing lists. Use the exact address AtData has on file if you know it, but if you have multiple email addresses associated with your identity, you may need to submit the form multiple times, once for each address.

  4. 04

    Enter your full name

Type your first and last name as they appear in your identity. Use the spelling most commonly associated with your email address or account. AtData uses name and email together to locate and suppress your profile.

  5. 05

    Enter your home address

Fill in your street address (house number and street name), city, state, country, and postal code or ZIP. Use your current residential address. AtData matches profiles using this address information, so accuracy is important for successful suppression.

  6. 06

    Complete the reCAPTCHA

Check the reCAPTCHA box or solve the challenge presented. If you are using a VPN, ad blocker, or privacy extension, you may be asked to solve additional CAPTCHAs. For the fastest processing, disable these tools on instantdata.atdata.com.

  7. 07

    Submit the suppression request

Click the "Submit" or "Opt Out" button. The page will display a confirmation message stating that your email has been suppressed and will not be sold or shared for marketing purposes. No follow-up email is sent; the confirmation on the page is your proof.

  8. 08

    Save your confirmation page

Take a screenshot of the confirmation message or note the date and time. Keep this record as proof that you submitted an opt-out request. If AtData later uses your email for marketing without your consent, this documentation helps support a legal claim.

What is AtData?

AtData, formerly known as TowerData, is a data and email intelligence company serving marketers, advertisers, and businesses. The company maintains extensive profiles of consumers by collecting email addresses, demographic information, and online behavior data through surveys, online forms, cookies, and third-party data purchases. AtData's primary business is selling access to this data to companies running targeted marketing campaigns. The company claims to help marketers reach consumers with accurate, up-to-date contact information and behavioral insights.

Unlike many people-search sites, AtData does not charge individuals to look up other people; instead, it profits by selling consumer profiles and email lists to businesses. If you have filled out online forms, participated in surveys, or engaged with cookies, your information may be in AtData's database.

What a AtData listing can show

  • Email address (primary focus of the company)
  • First and last name
  • Residential address and location
  • Demographic information such as age range or income level
  • Online browsing behavior and interests (from cookies and tracking)
  • Purchase history and shopping preferences
  • Social media activity linked to your email

Who runs AtData, and which sites one request covers

AtData is operated by AtData, Inc., a Boston-area company that previously operated under the name TowerData. The company maintains a privacy officer and publishes contact information at its headquarters in Dedham, Massachusetts. AtData is not a subsidiary of a larger people-search network; it operates independently, though it may share or exchange data with other data brokers and marketing-tech firms.

What is the atdata.com opt-out removal process?

The AtData opt-out form is hosted at instantdata.atdata.com/optout (note the "instantdata" subdomain, not the main atdata.com site). The form asks for your email address, first name, last name, street address, city, state, country, and ZIP code. It includes a reCAPTCHA verification. When we loaded the page on October 5, 2026 the form was fully accessible from our test browser with no additional bot challenges. After submitting, AtData confirms your suppression was processed immediately; you will not receive a follow-up email.

How long it takes

AtData reports that email suppressions take effect immediately upon submission and confirmation. Your email address should be removed from AtData's marketing and sales lists and will not be sold, shared, or used for targeted advertising going forward. However, AtData may continue to receive your email address from new data sources or third-party purchases; if you start receiving marketing emails again after several months, you may need to resubmit an opt-out request.

If it does not work

AtData opt-out problems and fixes

The reCAPTCHA keeps failing or changing after I solve it

Disable your VPN, ad blocker, script blocker, and privacy extensions for instantdata.atdata.com. Reload the page in a fresh private/incognito window. If the problem persists, email privacy@atdata.com with your email address and request manual suppression from their marketing lists.

The form does not submit or displays an error

Double-check that you have filled in all required fields: email, first name, last name, street address, city, state, country, and ZIP. Reload the page, clear your browser cache, and try again. If the error persists, contact privacy@atdata.com.

I don't have a complete US address to enter

AtData's form requires a full address. If you live outside the US or do not have a street address, enter what information you have and contact privacy@atdata.com to request manual suppression with an explanation of your situation.

The form does not acknowledge my submission

The page may simply display "Suppression Successful" without a follow-up email or confirmation number. Wait 10 seconds for the confirmation message to load. If nothing appears, reload the page to see if your submission went through. If the form times out, email privacy@atdata.com with your email address and the date/time you attempted to opt out.

I continue receiving marketing emails from AtData after opting out

AtData may have acquired your email from a new data source or partner. Resubmit the opt-out form with the exact email address that is receiving the marketing emails. If you receive emails after resubmitting, save them as evidence and email privacy@atdata.com to file a complaint.

I do not know which email address AtData has on file

If you have multiple email addresses, submit the opt-out form for each one. Start with your current primary email and any work or alternate email addresses you have used online. You can also contact privacy@atdata.com and ask them to look up which email addresses are associated with your name.

Subject: Request to suppress my email from marketing lists and delete my data

Hello, I request that AtData suppress my email address from all marketing lists and delete my personal information from your database. Under applicable state privacy laws, including the CCPA and GDPR where applicable, I exercise my right to data deletion and opt-out of the sale or sharing of my personal information. Email: [Email] Name: [Full name] Address: [Street Address, City, State, Zip] Please confirm suppression and deletion in writing. Thank you.

After you opt out of AtData

AtData's suppression is permanent—your email will not be sold or shared for targeted marketing after opt-out. However, AtData and other data brokers regularly acquire fresh data from new sources, surveys, and third-party partners. If you move, change email addresses, or update your address online, you may eventually be re-listed in AtData's database. Consider revisiting your privacy choices on other sites where you enter your email (e.g., mailing lists, surveys, sweepstakes) to limit how much new data flows to AtData and other brokers in the future.

Common questions

AtData opt-out FAQ

Is AtData legitimate, and is its opt-out form safe to use?

Yes. AtData is a real, established company in the data and email marketing industry. Its opt-out form is the official, safe way to request suppression from their marketing lists. The form is hosted on AtData's own domain (instantdata.atdata.com) and only asks for information needed to identify and suppress your profile. The company clearly states that after opt-out, your email will not be sold or used for marketing. Do not use third-party removal services claiming to remove you from AtData for a fee; the official opt-out is free.

How do I remove my email from AtData?

Visit instantdata.atdata.com/optout and fill out the form with your email, name, and address. Complete the reCAPTCHA and click submit. AtData will suppress your email immediately, and it will not be sold or used for marketing purposes.

Is the AtData opt-out free?

Yes. The opt-out form is completely free. You do not need an account, a subscription, or a paid service to suppress your email from AtData's marketing lists.

How long does AtData removal take?

AtData suppression takes effect immediately upon form submission and confirmation. Your email will not be sold or shared for marketing after opt-out.

What is the difference between AtData and TowerData?

AtData is the current name of the company formerly known as TowerData. The company rebranded to AtData, but it is the same organization with the same email suppression and data practices. Use the current AtData opt-out form at instantdata.atdata.com/optout.

Does opting out of AtData stop all marketing emails?

Opting out of AtData suppresses your email from AtData's lists only. Other data brokers, email marketing services, and companies you have signed up for directly will continue to contact you. You need separate opt-outs for other services.

What information does AtData collect about me?

AtData collects email addresses, names, addresses, demographic data (age, income), online behavior from cookies and trackers, purchase history, and social media activity. The company buys and aggregates this data from surveys, online forms, cookies, and third-party data partnerships.

Can my email be re-added to AtData after I opt out?

Yes. If AtData acquires your email address from a new source after your opt-out, it may re-add you. If this happens, you can resubmit the opt-out form. Consider limiting where you enter your email online to reduce how much new data reaches AtData and other brokers.
