CoreLogic (Cotality) privacy request: choose the right data scope
CoreLogic does business as Cotality, a B2B property-data and analytics company rather than a consumer people-search profile site. Its Product Privacy Policy directs requests to know, delete or correct personal data, and opt-outs of sale or sharing, to its Online Privacy Portal. It lists 1-866-221-9291 for California residents. The policy does not cover publicly available or government-record information, FCRA or GLBA-regulated data, or information Cotality processes for a business customer; ask the relevant customer about the latter. No request or response time was tested.

7 steps. Use the official site in a normal browser and follow its current instructions if a human check fails.
- 01
Decide which request you want
Cotality's policy lists four request types: know what it holds, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. Deletion and opt-out are separate. If your main goal is to stop it selling your data to business customers, make sure the opt-out of sale or sharing is part of what you ask for.
- 02
Open the Online Privacy Portal from the official policy page
Go to cotality.com/legal/product-privacy-policy and use the Online Privacy Portal link. It is a script-driven link that opens Cotality's privacy center, which its site configuration hosts at cotality.privacyportal.co. Turn off script blockers if nothing opens, and do not use third-party sites that offer to file for you.
- 03
Choose your request type and follow the prompts
The policy says requests to know, delete or correct, and requests to opt out of sale or sharing, can be submitted through the Online Privacy Portal. It does not document the form's fields, so follow the current portal prompts and note the date you actually submit. The policy describes state privacy rights as dependent on where you live and applicable law.
- 04
Or call the privacy line
The policy publishes 1-866-221-9291 for California residents. Ask which request scope the call can address and write down the date and any reference number. The published policy does not identify this number as a request route for residents outside California; use the portal for the other state-law rights described in the policy.
- 05
Expect identity verification
When legally required, Cotality says it verifies identity by asking you to match data points against information in its records. It may also verify the identity of the person represented by an authorized agent. Follow the verification instructions it actually sends and provide only the evidence requested; the policy does not publish a fixed list of fields for this step.
- 06
Handle credit-report data separately
Consumer-report data sits with Credco, not in the privacy portal. For a copy of a Credco report, a disputed item or an inquiry you want researched, call (800) 637-2422 or write to Credco Consumer Services, P.O. Box 509124, San Diego, CA 92150. Expect to prove identity and address with documents.
- 07
Keep records and appeal if refused
Save the confirmation, the date and any reference number. If Cotality refuses all or part of a request, its policy says you may appeal by replying to the response email. Ask which request scope it addressed and which information remains outside the policy or under an exception.

What is CoreLogic?
CoreLogic is a US property-data and analytics company that serves mortgage, insurance, real estate and government customers. It announced a global rebrand to Cotality on March 24, 2025, and its legal entity is now "CoreLogic, Inc. d/b/a Cotality". Its current product privacy policy applies to personal data processed in connection with Cotality's business products, not to every record held by the company.
Cotality says it does not offer products for individuals' personal, family or household use, and it is not a consumer people-search site with a public name profile to remove. The policy does describe personal data it may collect from third-party data licensors, including identifiers, property-related commercial information, demographics and city/state/country/postal-code geolocation. Data handled as a service provider or processor for a business customer falls outside this product policy; direct those questions to that customer. Publicly available or government-record data and information regulated under FCRA or GLBA are also excluded from the policy's scope.
What a CoreLogic listing can show
- Names, addresses and phone numbers
- Property ownership, buying, selling and renting records
- Financial information tied to property transactions
- Demographic details such as education, language, age and marital status
- Records of consumer interests, purchasing tendencies and lifestyle preferences
- Geolocation at the city, state and postal-code level
Who runs CoreLogic, and which sites one request covers
The operator is CoreLogic, Inc., doing business as Cotality, headquartered in Irvine, California. Cotality identifies itself as a data broker under Texas law. Its Credco unit resells merged credit reports from the three national credit bureaus and handles consumer-report matters separately. A single privacy request goes to Cotality itself; it does not clear other property-data companies, which each hold their own copies.
What is the corelogic.com opt-out removal process?
Cotality's Product Privacy Policy links to its Online Privacy Portal for requests to know, delete or correct data and opt-outs of sale or sharing. It publishes 1-866-221-9291 specifically for California residents. When legally required, Cotality verifies identity by matching data points against its records; the policy does not list the form fields. This is a privacy-rights process, not a public-profile removal, and it does not cover information processed for a business customer or data outside the policy's scope.
How long it takes
The reviewed Product Privacy Policy does not state a response or deletion deadline. It says requests are handled after identity verification when legally required. Keep the portal confirmation or call reference and ask Cotality for the applicable timeframe. If it refuses a request, the policy says to appeal by replying to the response email. privacy@cotality.com is published for questions about the policy or product data practices, not as a substitute request route.
CoreLogic opt-out problems and fixes
An older guide sends me to corelogic.com/legal/ccpa and I get a 404
That page no longer works: it redirects to a cotality.com page that returned a 404 when we checked on October 5, 2026. Use the Online Privacy Portal link on the current Product Privacy Policy page or the California notice instead.
The Online Privacy Portal link does nothing or shows a blank page
Open the Online Privacy Portal from the current Product Privacy Policy and follow its available prompts. The policy does not publish a separate general request email. It publishes 1-866-221-9291 for California residents and privacy@cotality.com for questions about the policy or product data practices; those contacts should not be treated as a confirmed replacement form.
Cotality deleted some of my data but kept the property records
This is expected. Its policy excludes publicly available and government-record information, and data regulated by FCRA or GLBA, from these rights. Ask in writing which categories were kept and why, and appeal by replying to its response email.
I live outside California and am not sure I can use the portal
The policy describes state privacy rights as dependent on residence and applicable law. It publishes the portal for rights requests and identifies 1-866-221-9291 specifically for California residents. If you have a question about the policy or product data practices, privacy@cotality.com is the listed contact; it is not identified as a substitute request channel.
My problem is a credit report, not property data
Cotality's opt-out does not change credit files. Contact Credco at (800) 637-2422 for a Credco report or dispute, and dispute errors with Equifax, Experian and TransUnion directly.
After you opt out of CoreLogic
Keep the confirmation and Cotality's response, including the scope it says it addressed and any exception or retained information. Cotality says it obtains data from third-party licensors and may combine datasets; the policy does not promise that information will never reappear in a later data feed. It also says it may collect, use or sell personal data to train large language models. The policy does not specify whether a sale/sharing opt-out also restricts model-training use, so ask Cotality to clarify that separately if it matters to your request. A Cotality request does not update another company's separate records.
Realistic scope
This guide explains how to request the action CoreLogic publishes for its own site. Reading the guide or sending a request does not establish completed removal. Other sites and original public records are separate; recheck the specific corelogic.com page after the site's response and if the information appears again.
Not yet a filed-for-you target

CoreLogic opt-out FAQ
Is CoreLogic legit, and is Cotality's privacy portal safe to use?
CoreLogic is a large property-data company that rebranded as Cotality in 2025, and the Online Privacy Portal linked from cotality.com is its official request channel. Open it from cotality.com rather than a search ad, give only what the portal asks for, and ignore any site that charges to remove you from CoreLogic. Cotality says its policy applies to its products, not to data it handles for business customers.
Is CoreLogic the same company as Cotality?
Yes. CoreLogic announced its rebrand to Cotality on March 24, 2025. Its legal entity is CoreLogic, Inc. d/b/a Cotality, and legal pages on corelogic.com now redirect to cotality.com.
How do I remove myself from CoreLogic?
Use the Online Privacy Portal linked from Cotality's Product Privacy Policy, or call 1-866-221-9291 (published for California residents), and request deletion and an opt-out of sale. Public-record, FCRA and GLBA data are excluded, so some data may stay.
Does CoreLogic sell my personal information?
Cotality's California Collection Notice says it sells or shares specified categories with customers and other third parties. The Product Privacy Policy says residents may request an opt-out of sale or sharing through the Online Privacy Portal, or call 1-866-221-9291 if they are California residents. The request's effect is subject to applicable privacy law and the policy's exclusions.
Can CoreLogic delete my property records?
Probably not all of them. Cotality's policy excludes publicly available and government-record information from deletion rights. It may delete or stop selling data it holds from other sources, and it should tell you in its reply what it kept.
Does CoreLogic use my data to train AI?
The Product Privacy Policy says Cotality may collect, use or sell personal data to train large language models. It separately describes an opt-out of sale or sharing, but does not say that this opt-out also stops model-training use. Ask Cotality to clarify the scope of your request rather than assuming one right covers both.
Is CoreLogic a credit bureau?
No. Cotality describes itself as a property-data company. Its Credco unit resells merged credit reports built from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion data and does not maintain its own database for new reports. Credit disputes go to Credco at (800) 637-2422 and to the bureaus.
Can only California residents opt out of CoreLogic?
The Product Privacy Policy says rights depend on the state where you reside and applicable law, and it names California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas and other states as examples. It publishes the Online Privacy Portal for rights requests and states the phone route specifically for California residents.
