SageStream opt-out: how to freeze your file and opt out of marketing
SageStream is an FCRA-regulated credit bureau owned by LexisNexis Risk Solutions. You cannot delete your file, but you can place a free security freeze by calling 1-800-456-1244 or online at consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/freeze. You can also opt out of prescreened credit and insurance offers at the same portal. These controls prevent fraud and marketing, but your file remains in the system.

- 01
Understand what you can and cannot do
SageStream is a credit bureau, not a people-search site. You cannot delete your file outright. You can freeze access to it (preventing fraud), opt out of marketing lists, or request a free copy of your report to check for errors.
- 02
Access the LexisNexis Consumer portal
Visit consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com. The old sagestreamllc.com domain now redirects here. You will manage all SageStream-related requests through this portal.
- 03
Place a security freeze (recommended for fraud prevention)
Go to consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/freeze. You can place a freeze online, by mail to 'LexisNexis Risk Solutions Consumer Center, Attn: Security Freeze, P.O. Box 105108, Atlanta, GA 30348-5108', or by phone at 1-800-456-1244. A freeze is free and blocks access to your file, preventing identity thieves from opening accounts in your name.
- 04
Opt out of prescreen marketing (optional)
Visit consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/opt to opt out of prescreened credit and insurance offers. Call 1-888-497-0011 if you prefer. Request that the opt-out covers SageStream specifically.
- 05
Verify that SageStream is included
The LexisNexis portal never mentions SageStream by name. After submitting your request by phone, mail, or online, ask the company to confirm that the freeze and opt-out cover your SageStream consumer report.
- 06
Request a free annual file disclosure
If you want to see what is in your SageStream file, request a free annual disclosure from consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/factact or by phone at 1-866-312-8076. Mailed requests go to 'LexisNexis Risk Solutions Consumer Center, P.O. Box 105295, Atlanta GA 30348-5295'.

What is SageStream?
SageStream is a supplementary credit bureau regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and owned by LexisNexis Risk Solutions. It compiles credit payment histories, account types, and account statuses for auto lenders, credit card issuers, retailers, utilities, and mobile carriers to make credit decisions and build alternative credit scores.
SageStream is not a people-search site like spokeo.com. Your file exists at SageStream whether or not you knowingly provided data; the company buys payment and account data from financial institutions. Because it is a regulated FCRA consumer reporting agency, the legal framework does not permit general file deletion. The available consumer controls are freeze (blocking access to your file), prescreen opt-out (removing you from marketing lists), and dispute (challenging incorrect entries).

Who runs SageStream, and which sites one request covers
SageStream is operated by LexisNexis Risk Solutions, a major data broker and FCRA consumer reporting agency. SageStream was historically a subsidiary of ID Analytics LLC, which LexisNexis acquired in 2020. The CFPB still maintains SageStream as a separate entry on its consumer reporting agency list. The main website sagestreamllc.com now redirects to the LexisNexis Consumer Disclosure portal (consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com).
What is the sagestreamllc.com opt-out removal process?
SageStream does not offer general file deletion. Instead, it provides three consumer controls through the LexisNexis Consumer Disclosure portal at consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com. When we checked on October 5, 2026, sagestreamllc.com and all sub-paths returned HTTP 301 redirects to the LexisNexis portal. The portal pages do not mention SageStream by name, so you will need to confirm by phone or mail that your request covers your SageStream file specifically. The three available actions are: place a security freeze, opt out of prescreened offers, and request a free annual file disclosure.
How long it takes
Security freeze requests are typically effective immediately when placed online; mailed or phone requests take 5-10 business days. Prescreen opt-out requests take effect within five business days. There is no 'profile' to re-check; the absence of fraud or marketing activity is your confirmation. If you experience identity theft after placing a freeze, contact the LexisNexis Consumer Center at 1-866-312-8076 to report it.
SageStream opt-out problems and fixes
The portal does not mention SageStream; you are unsure if the freeze covers it
Call LexisNexis Consumer Center at 1-866-312-8076 or 1-800-456-1244 and explicitly ask: 'Does the security freeze I just placed cover my SageStream consumer report?' Request written confirmation.
You need to temporarily lift your freeze for a credit application
Call LexisNexis at 1-800-456-1244 with the PIN from your freeze confirmation letter. You can lift the freeze temporarily for a specific creditor or for a set number of days.
You received prescreened offers after opting out
Prescreened mailings can take 4-6 weeks to fully stop. Re-submit your opt-out request at consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/opt or call 1-888-497-0011 to confirm it is on file.
You found incorrect information in your SageStream file
Request a file disclosure to confirm the error, then dispute it. File disputes by mail to 'LexisNexis Risk Solutions Consumer Center, P.O. Box 105108, Atlanta GA 30348-5108' with copies of supporting documents.
You cannot reach LexisNexis by the published phone numbers
Try the CFPB's SageStream listing (consumerfinance.gov) for additional contact details. You can also file a complaint with the CFPB at consumerfinance.gov or (855) 411-2372 if the company fails to respond within 30 days.
After you opt out of SageStream
A security freeze is the strongest consumer protection SageStream offers. It blocks access to your file and prevents fraudsters from opening accounts. The freeze remains active until you lift it. Prescreen opt-out removes you from marketing lists within five business days. Neither action deletes your SageStream file; the company retains your credit history for lender queries, disputes, and compliance. Confirm by phone that your freeze covers SageStream specifically, since the LexisNexis portal does not name it directly. Monitor your credit annually using your free disclosure or services like annualcreditreport.com.
Realistic scope
This guide explains how to request the action SageStream publishes for its own site. Reading the guide or sending a request does not establish completed removal. Other sites and original public records are separate; recheck the specific sagestreamllc.com page after the site's response and if the information appears again.

SageStream opt-out FAQ
Is SageStream legit, and are freeze and opt-out requests safe?
Yes. SageStream is a real, FCRA-regulated consumer reporting agency now operated by LexisNexis Risk Solutions. Placing a freeze and opting out are official consumer rights under FCRA law. Do not use third-party services charging fees to freeze your credit or opt out of marketing; these services are free directly from LexisNexis.
Can I delete my SageStream consumer report?
No. SageStream is a credit bureau regulated by the FCRA; consumer reporting agencies cannot delete files under federal law. You can freeze access to your file, opt out of marketing lists, and dispute inaccurate information, but the file remains on record.
What does a security freeze do?
A freeze blocks creditors and identity thieves from accessing your SageStream file without your explicit permission. It is free, effective immediately, and prevents most fraudulent account opens. You can lift it temporarily or permanently anytime.
How do I place a security freeze with SageStream?
Call LexisNexis Consumer Center at 1-800-456-1244, visit consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/freeze, or mail a request to 'LexisNexis Risk Solutions Consumer Center, Attn: Security Freeze, P.O. Box 105108, Atlanta, GA 30348-5108'. A freeze is free and takes effect immediately online or within 5 business days by mail.
Do I need to opt out of SageStream prescreened offers separately?
Yes. A security freeze does not opt you out of marketing lists. To stop prescreened offers, visit consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/opt or call 1-888-497-0011. Opting out takes effect within five business days.
Can I see what is in my SageStream file?
Yes. You are entitled to a free annual file disclosure under the FACT Act. Request one online at consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com/factact, by phone at 1-866-312-8076, or by mail to 'LexisNexis Risk Solutions Consumer Center, P.O. Box 105295, Atlanta GA 30348-5295'. A letter will arrive with online access instructions.
Will freezing SageStream affect my credit score?
No. A freeze does not lower your credit score. It only prevents new account opens and soft inquiries. Existing creditors can still view your file, and you can temporarily lift the freeze for legitimate credit applications.
Is sagestreamllc.com still active?
No. SageStream's original website redirects to the LexisNexis Consumer Disclosure portal (consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com). All SageStream-related requests now go through that portal. Confirm by phone that your requests cover SageStream, since the portal text does not name it.
