FreePeopleSearch opt-out: how to remove your profile and contact data
Go to freepeoplesearch.com/opt-out and enter your email address and full name. Check the box confirming you agree to their Terms of Service, then click Continue. FreePeopleSearch will email a verification link; click it and select your record to remove. The company says most requests process within 5 to 7 business days. If the site is down or the form times out, email support@freepeoplesearch.com instead.

Remove yourself from FreePeopleSearch
8 steps. Use the official site in a normal browser and follow its current instructions if a human check fails.
- 01
Search for your profile on FreePeopleSearch
Go to freepeoplesearch.com and search for your name and your current city or state. Review the search results to identify which profile is yours. Note details like your listed address, phone number, age, and any relatives shown. This information will help you select the correct record when you proceed with removal.
- 02
Go to the opt-out page
Navigate to freepeoplesearch.com/opt-out in your browser. The page displays a simple form with fields for email and name. Check the URL in your address bar to confirm you are on the official FreePeopleSearch domain. Do not use a VPN or proxy unless you previously used one to search for your profile, as mismatched connection types can cause email delivery issues.
- 03
Enter your email address
Type your email address into the Email field. Use an address you have active access to, since FreePeopleSearch will send the verification link there. A masked or forwarding email works fine; you do not need to provide your address as it appears on the profile.
- 04
Enter your full name
Type your full name as it appears on your profile in FreePeopleSearch. Use the spelling and format shown on the listing to help the system match your record. If you go by a nickname or middle name on the profile, enter it that way.
- 05
Agree to the terms
Check the checkbox stating "I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and consent to receive transactional emails." This is required to submit the form. You are only consenting to transactional emails about your removal request, not promotional emails.
- 06
Click Continue
Click the Continue button. The page will confirm that a verification email is on the way. Do not leave the page until you see this confirmation message.
- 07
Verify your email and select your record
Open the email from FreePeopleSearch (check spam and promotions folders). Click the verification link. You will be taken to a page showing search results for your name. Select the profile you want removed and confirm the suppression. The system may show multiple profiles if your name is common in your area.
- 08
Wait for processing and recheck
FreePeopleSearch reports that removals take 5 to 7 business days to process. After a week, search for your name on freepeoplesearch.com again to confirm the listing is gone or marked as suppressed. If it still appears, submit a second removal request or contact support@freepeoplesearch.com.
What the FreePeopleSearch opt-out page looked like when we checked
When we loaded freepeoplesearch.com on October 5, 2026, it showed a "verify you are human" check before the form. Use a normal browser with VPN off; the form usually appears after the check.
This is a dated record of what our browser saw, not a removal. We never submit requests from this page.

What is FreePeopleSearch?
FreePeopleSearch is a free people-search directory that aggregates publicly available information about individuals across the United States. It combines data from public records, court files, property records, phone books, and other public databases into searchable profiles. The site generates revenue by displaying ads and selling access to more detailed reports and contact data. You do not need to have created an account or signed up for anything to be in FreePeopleSearch; your information appears simply because it is available from public sources.
The profiles are indexed by search engines and cached in Google, making it easy for anyone—employers, landlords, debt collectors, telemarketers—to find your name, address, phone number, and associated public history with a simple online search.
What a FreePeopleSearch listing can show
- Full name and current address
- Telephone numbers (landline and sometimes mobile)
- Age or approximate age range
- Relatives and family members' names
- Property ownership history
- Public records and court records
- Email addresses when publicly linked to your name
Who runs FreePeopleSearch, and which sites one request covers
FreePeopleSearch is part of a network of related people-search sites operated by the same parent company. The removal form is hosted at freepeoplesearch.com/opt-out. Submitting a removal request on FreePeopleSearch also covers the .io domain variant (freepeoplesearch.io). However, FreePeopleSearch does not operate CheckPeople, Information.com, Unmask, or other affiliate sites directly; those require separate removal requests despite sharing similar infrastructure and databases.
Same request also covers: freepeoplesearch.io
What is the freepeoplesearch.com opt-out removal process?
The FreePeopleSearch opt-out uses a two-step email-confirmation process. The first step is a form asking for your email address and full name, with a checkbox confirming you agree to their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. When we loaded the page on October 5, 2026 there was no CAPTCHA on the initial form and no account required. After clicking Continue, FreePeopleSearch sends a verification email. You must click the link in that email, search for your record, and select the one to suppress. Most requests are reported to take effect within 5 to 7 business days.
How long it takes
FreePeopleSearch states that removal requests take effect within 5 to 7 business days from the time you verify your email and select your record. Search your name again after 7 days to confirm. Keep the verification email as proof. If the listing reappears after several months, it may be due to data refreshes from public-records updates; at that point, repeat the opt-out process.
FreePeopleSearch opt-out problems and fixes
The verification email never arrived
Check your spam, promotions, and other Gmail tabs first. If the email is not there after 15 minutes, return to freepeoplesearch.com/opt-out and resubmit. If you use a Gmail address and still receive nothing, try a different email provider. If all else fails, contact support@freepeoplesearch.com and ask for manual removal.
I clicked the verification link but don't see my profile in the search results
The verification page searches by the name you entered in the form. If your profile used a slightly different spelling or nickname, you might not see it in the results. Try searching again with alternate name formats (middle name included, nickname, etc.). You can also email support@freepeoplesearch.com with your name and address and ask them to locate and suppress your record.
Multiple profiles appear when I click the verification link
Select the profile that matches the address, phone number, and other details you saw earlier. If you are unsure, select the most recent or the one showing your current address. You can always submit another removal request if you remove the wrong record.
The opt-out form is not loading or is very slow
Reload the page or try a different browser. Clear your cookies and cache. If the site remains slow, wait an hour and try again. When we checked on October 5, 2026 the form loaded without errors, but the site can experience traffic spikes.
My profile is still showing after 7 days
Contact support@freepeoplesearch.com with the date you verified your removal request and a link to the profile. You can also submit another removal request; if multiple submissions are rejected, the profile may be flagged in their system and require manual intervention.
The site says my email address is already in their removal queue
You or someone with access to your email may have already submitted a request. Wait 7 more days for processing. If you never submitted a request, your address may have been submitted by a data-removal company. Check your email for any removal-service receipts and contact their support if needed.

Subject: Request to remove my profile from FreePeopleSearch
Hello, I request that you remove all of my personal information from FreePeopleSearch and do not sell, share, or disclose my data to any third party. Under applicable state privacy laws, I am exercising my right to deletion and data suppression. Name: [Full name] Email: [Email] City, State: [City, State] Profile URL (if known): [Listing URL] Please confirm removal by email once my request is processed. Thank you.
After you opt out of FreePeopleSearch
Save your verification email from FreePeopleSearch as proof of your request. Because FreePeopleSearch sources data from public records and government databases, your information can reappear after property transfers, voter-registration updates, or phone-number reassignments. Plan to re-check your profile every 90 days and resubmit if necessary. You should also file separate removal requests with CheckPeople, Information.com, and Unmask, as those sites operate independently despite sharing similar data and infrastructure. FreePeopleSearch's .io domain is covered by the same removal request, so you do not need to opt out twice.
Realistic scope
This guide explains how to request the action FreePeopleSearch publishes for its own site. Reading the guide or sending a request does not establish completed removal. Other sites and original public records are separate; recheck the specific freepeoplesearch.com page after the site's response and if the information appears again.

Review and change history
A content review or directory snapshot is reference history. A historical route observation does not establish submission, provider acceptance or removal, and does not establish a current working route. Current independent evidence has its own scope and expiry.
· Guide content reviewed against the published sources. This is the recorded review baseline; no earlier editorial change log is available.
· Historical route observation: bot challenge (HTTP 403). This describes only the page observed on that date; later steps and today's availability were not established by that observation.
Read current independent route evidence. That record reports its own scope, date, expiry and any gaps; this history does not renew verification.
