NumberGuru opt-out: how to remove your reverse-phone listing
Use NumberGuru's official opt-out route or its BeenVerified-family search flow. Search for the matching record, select it, enter an email address you control, complete the CAPTCHA, and click the verification link sent by email. When we loaded the official route on October 5, 2026, it stopped at a Turnstile security challenge and showed no form fields. Use a normal browser without a VPN. No processing timeline is published.

Remove yourself from NumberGuru
8 steps. Use the official site in a normal browser and follow its current instructions if a human check fails.
- 01
Locate the NumberGuru record
Start with the NumberGuru reverse-phone lookup and search the number connected to your record. Note the name and location shown in the result. If you use the support article's “Do Not Sell My Info” route, follow the link back to the official NumberGuru or BeenVerified-family portal and keep the matching record details available.
- 02
Open the official opt-out route
Use numberguru.com/svc/optout/search/optouts/search_person_result, the listed route, or the official support article's Do Not Sell My Info link. Check that the host is NumberGuru or the documented BeenVerified portal before entering information. Do not pay a third party to access an opt-out form.
- 03
Pass the human check
When we loaded the route on October 5, 2026, it showed a Turnstile challenge and no form fields. Expect a “Verify you are human” check. Use a normal browser without a VPN, allow required scripts, and try a fresh window if the challenge loops. A page load or challenge pass is not proof that a request was filed.
- 04
Search by name and location
After the challenge clears, follow the family flow described: enter your name and city or state, then review the returned records. Use the location and the phone-number context to distinguish your record from other people with a similar name. Do not select a result based on the name alone.
- 05
Select the matching result
Choose the result that matches the NumberGuru record you want suppressed. The flow uses a “That’s the one” confirmation stage. If none of the results match your number or location, go back and search again rather than submitting a request for someone else.
- 06
Enter your email and complete the CAPTCHA
Enter an email address you control and complete the CAPTCHA when the portal asks. Keep the browser window open until the service confirms the next step. If the CAPTCHA fails, disable script-blocking extensions for the official site and retry from a normal browser without a VPN.
- 07
Verify the request by email
Check your inbox, spam, and promotions folders for the verification message. Click its link to confirm the opt-out. The email link is a required checkpoint in the documented flow. Save the message and any confirmation page with the date so you can follow up if the listing remains visible.
- 08
Recheck NumberGuru
After the request has had time to process, search the same phone number again and compare the result. Check whether the associated name or record is still returned. If it remains, email privacy@numberguru.com or support@numberguru.com with the record details and ask for the status of the verified request.
What the NumberGuru opt-out page looked like when we checked
When we loaded numberguru.com on October 5, 2026, it showed a "verify you are human" check before the form. Use a normal browser with VPN off; the form usually appears after the check.
This is a dated record of what our browser saw, not a removal. We never submit requests from this page.

What is NumberGuru?
NumberGuru is a reverse-phone lookup service. It is designed to let someone search a phone number and connect that number with a person or a people-search record. The service operates separately from the other sites in its family, even though it is described as owned by BeenVerified and says the services may use similar data sources and technology.
People use reverse-phone sites to identify an unknown caller or find information associated with a number. A NumberGuru result can therefore expose personal information that you did not submit directly to the service. An opt-out request addresses the NumberGuru record reached through its official flow. It does not change phone-company records or automatically suppress copies held by other data brokers.
What a NumberGuru listing can show
- Phone number
- Name associated with a phone number
- City or state used to match a record
- Personal information linked to the phone lookup
- Reverse-phone search result
- Matching people-search record
Who runs NumberGuru, and which sites one request covers
NumberGuru is described as owned by BeenVerified, while its directory record has no separate parent-domain value. NumberGuru has its own support contact at support@numberguru.com and a privacy contact at privacy@numberguru.com. The related BeenVerified family includes beenverified.com, bumper.com, freephonetracer.com, neighborwho.com, ownerly.com, peoplesmart.com, and reversephone.com. Treat those as separate services unless their own route confirms otherwise.
What is the numberguru.com opt-out removal process?
The documented NumberGuru family flow is a record search followed by email verification: enter a name and city or state, choose the matching result, enter an email address, complete the CAPTCHA, and click the verification link. A support article also points to the site’s “Do Not Sell My Info” route. When we loaded the listed opt-out URL on October 5, 2026, it returned a Turnstile security challenge with no visible fields. No request was submitted during that check.
How long it takes
No publish a NumberGuru processing timeline. It identifies email verification as the final checkpoint, so save the verification message and any confirmation. Re-search the original phone number after processing time has passed. If the record is still visible, contact privacy@numberguru.com with the name, location, and listing details; use support@numberguru.com if the form itself is not working.
NumberGuru opt-out problems and fixes
The opt-out page says Just a moment or never clears
Use a normal browser without a VPN, enable required scripts, and try a fresh window. Temporarily pause privacy or ad-blocking extensions for numberguru.com. The route showed a Turnstile challenge when we loaded it on October 5, 2026, so an automation-controlled browser may not display the form.
I cannot find the right phone record
Start with the number shown in the NumberGuru listing and compare the returned name and city or state. If several records appear, use all available context to identify yours. Stop if none matches rather than selecting another person's result.
The portal selects the wrong person
Return to the search step and compare the phone number, name, and location again. The documented family flow uses a confirmation stage, so review the “That’s the one” result before continuing. Contact privacy@numberguru.com if the correct record never appears.
The verification email did not arrive
Check spam, promotions, and mail filters, then confirm the email address was entered correctly. Retry after the CAPTCHA clears. If the message still does not arrive, email support@numberguru.com or privacy@numberguru.com with the NumberGuru record details.
The CAPTCHA keeps failing
Turn off the VPN, use a normal browser, allow cookies and scripts required by the site, and temporarily pause extensions that block challenges. Try another browser if needed. Do not assume a failed challenge created a request.
My number still appears after I verified
Confirm that you clicked the email link and selected the correct NumberGuru record. No no processing timeline, so recheck after time has passed. If the same record remains, send privacy@numberguru.com the listing details and ask for a status update.

Subject: Privacy opt-out request for my NumberGuru listing
Hello, Under applicable state privacy laws, including the CCPA where it applies, I request that NumberGuru delete or suppress the personal information associated with my listing and opt me out of applicable sale or sharing. Name: [Full name] Email: [Email] Location: [City, State] Listing URL: [Listing URL] Please confirm by email when the request has been processed, or tell me what verification you need. Thank you.
After you opt out of NumberGuru
Keep the verification email and any final confirmation. Reverse-phone and people-search data can be refreshed, and the BeenVerified family contains several related services that may hold their own copies. Recheck NumberGuru after a phone-number or address change, then review BeenVerified, Bumper, FreePhoneTracer, NeighborWho, Ownerly, PeopleSmart, and ReversePhone separately. My Privacy Agent can help organize recurring checks, but verify this request using NumberGuru's own later readback.
Realistic scope
This guide explains how to request the action NumberGuru publishes for its own site. Reading the guide or sending a request does not establish completed removal. Other sites and original public records are separate; recheck the specific numberguru.com page after the site's response and if the information appears again.
Not yet a filed-for-you target
This page documents NumberGuru's published privacy route. My Privacy Agent Patrol does not file this site automatically yet. An exposure check uses configured sources and does not confirm that this specific site is included.

Review and change history
A content review or directory snapshot is reference history. A historical route observation does not establish submission, provider acceptance or removal, and does not establish a current working route. Current independent evidence has its own scope and expiry.
· Guide content reviewed against the published sources. This is the recorded review baseline; no earlier editorial change log is available.
· Historical route observation: bot challenge (HTTP 403). This describes only the page observed on that date; later steps and today's availability were not established by that observation.
