Innovis opt-out guide

How to remove yourself from Innovis (2026 opt-out guide)

Guide content reviewed 2026-10-05

Reading current independent checks… See route evidence

Visit optoutprescreen.com (the shared consumer opt-out portal for all four credit bureaus). Select Innovis, enter your name, address, date of birth, and Social Security Number (last 4 digits if prompted), and choose opt-out. The request is effective within five business days. This removes you from prescreened credit and insurance offers, not from your Innovis credit file.

Work through this with your agent

Give your agent the published steps, sources and read-only tools. It should check the current official process and ask before taking action.

Check if you are listed on Innovis

Innovis does not expose a stable public search URL we can prefill, so find your listing directly: open innovis.com, search your full name plus your state (and previous states), and copy the URL of the record that is you. The opt-out form usually asks for that URL or the same name and location.

What Innovis typically shows

  • Payment history and account status
  • Open and closed credit accounts
  • Credit inquiries
  • Prescreened offer lists for marketing

An exposure report can help organize candidate listings before you work through the site's official steps.

Step by step

Remove yourself from Innovis

7 steps. Use the official site in a normal browser and follow its current instructions if a human check fails.

  1. 01

    Understand what opt-out does

Opting out of Innovis removes you from prescreened marketing lists only. It does not delete your credit file, freeze your credit, or prevent lenders from viewing your history. If you want to block new-account fraud, you need a separate credit freeze.

  2. 02

    Visit the shared opt-out portal

Go to www.optoutprescreen.com (the official consumer opt-out site for all four credit bureaus). This is the only place to opt out of Innovis prescreened offers.

  3. 03

    Select Innovis

The form may ask you to choose which bureau(s) to opt out from. Check Innovis. Optionally check the others (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion) if you want to opt out of all prescreened marketing.

  4. 04

    Provide identity verification

Enter your full name, current mailing address, date of birth, and the last four digits of your Social Security Number if prompted. Only enter this on optoutprescreen.com itself.

  5. 05

    Choose permanent opt-out

Select 'permanent opt-out' (not temporary). Temporary opt-out lasts only five years; permanent is stronger and is what most people want.

  6. 06

    Submit the request

Click submit. The portal will confirm your request. The opt-out takes effect within five business days.

  7. 07

    Optionally place a security freeze

If you want to block credit inquiries and new-account fraud, call Innovis at 1-800-540-2505 and place a security freeze on your file. The freeze is free and more protective than an opt-out.

What is Innovis?

Innovis is the fourth consumer credit bureau, smaller than Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. It compiles credit payment histories, account types, and balances from lenders and creditors. Most people have an Innovis credit file whether or not they knowingly gave data to Innovis; the company buys accounts from banks and credit card issuers.

Innovis uses those files for two purposes: to supply credit reports to creditors who subscribe for lending decisions, and to compile prescreened marketing lists that banks and insurance companies buy to send unsolicited offers. The opt-out tool stops the marketing list use. It does not delete your credit file or prevent creditors from seeing your history; only a credit freeze or dispute can do that.

What a Innovis listing can show

  • Payment history and account status
  • Open and closed credit accounts
  • Credit inquiries
  • Prescreened offer lists for marketing

Who runs Innovis, and which sites one request covers

Innovis LLC operates the Innovis consumer credit bureau. It is regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and is registered with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Innovis is a separate company from the other three bureaus but is often grouped with them in regulatory discussions.

What is the innovis.com opt-out removal process?

Innovis does not host its own opt-out form. Instead, the company participates in the shared optoutprescreen.com portal run jointly by the four consumer credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion, and Innovis). When you go to innovis.com/personal/optOutOptIn, the site explains the process but directs you to optoutprescreen.com for the actual form. When we loaded innovis.com/personal/optOutOptIn on October 5, 2026, it displayed a link to optoutprescreen.com and explained the opt-out options, with no direct form on the Innovis domain itself.

How long it takes

Innovis and the other bureaus process opt-out requests within five business days. Prescreened offers should decline noticeably after that window. There is no active listing to re-check; the absence of offers is the confirmation. If you receive prescreened Innovis offers more than two weeks after opting out, the request may not have gone through; re-submit at optoutprescreen.com.

If it does not work

Innovis opt-out problems and fixes

You received prescreened offers weeks after opting out

Go back to optoutprescreen.com and check your request status, or submit a new request. Prescreened mailings can take 4-6 weeks to stop coming entirely due to mail delays.

You are not sure if you opted out

Visit optoutprescreen.com and re-submit. Opting out multiple times is harmless and ensures the request is on file.

You want to place a security freeze instead

Call Innovis consumer service at 1-800-540-2505. A security freeze is free and blocks creditors from accessing your file, which is more protective than opting out of marketing.

The optoutprescreen.com form asks for your full SSN

Provide the last four digits only if possible. If the form requires the full SSN, you can provide it; optoutprescreen.com is the official portal managed by the consumer reporting agencies themselves.

You placed a freeze and now want to temporarily lift it

Call Innovis at 1-800-540-2505 with your PIN from the freeze confirmation letter. You can lift the freeze for specific creditors or for a limited time.

After you opt out of Innovis

The opt-out is effective within five business days. You should see a decline in prescreened credit and insurance offers within 2-4 weeks. However, opt-out only addresses Innovis's marketing list sales; it does not delete your credit file or prevent direct solicitation from companies you already have accounts with. If you want stronger protection against fraud, place a security freeze by calling Innovis at 1-800-540-2505. To address the entire credit file, you can also place security freezes with all four bureaus and file a dispute if incorrect information is reported.

What we handle

  • Organizing candidate findings from the sources configured for your exposure check; coverage varies by source.
  • Providing this guide's free instructions and published privacy link.

What you must do

  • Submit and track the Innovis request yourself; it is not one of our removal targets today.
  • Re-check innovis.com after Innovis and the other bureaus process opt-out requests within five business days. Prescreened offers should decline noticeably after that window. There is no active listing to re-check; the absence of offers is the confirmation. If you receive prescreened Innovis offers more than two weeks after opting out, the request may not have gone through; re-submit at optoutprescreen.com. and repeat the process if the listing returns.

Realistic scope

This guide walks you through removing this one Innovis listing yourself; we do not automate it today. It does not touch Innovis's other data products, other brokers that buy data from Innovis, or the public records the listing was built from -- those need their own opt-outs. Most people-search sites re-ingest data on their own schedule, so plan on re-checking innovis.com every few months even after a successful removal.

Common questions

Innovis opt-out FAQ

Is Innovis legit, and is opting out of its prescreened list safe?

Yes. Innovis is a real, FCRA-regulated credit bureau. Opting out via optoutprescreen.com is the official, safe process managed by the bureaus themselves. Optoutprescreen.com is the only site to use for opt-outs; ignore third-party services claiming to opt you out for a fee. The opt-out request is free and protected by law.

How do I opt out of Innovis prescreened offers?

Visit optoutprescreen.com (the shared portal for all four credit bureaus). Select Innovis, enter your name, address, date of birth, and last four SSN digits, choose permanent opt-out, and submit. The request takes effect within five business days.

Will opting out delete my Innovis credit file?

No. Opt-out removes you from prescreened marketing lists only. Your credit file remains at Innovis and is available to lenders and creditors. To block access to your file, place a security freeze instead.

What is the difference between opt-out and a security freeze?

Opt-out stops prescreened marketing offers. A security freeze blocks all access to your credit file, which prevents new-account fraud. Both are free from Innovis. A freeze is more protective if you are concerned about identity theft.

How do I place a security freeze with Innovis?

Call Innovis consumer service at 1-800-540-2505. Provide your name, address, and SSN. A freeze is free and effective immediately (the bureau confirms by mail). You can lift it anytime with your PIN.

Can I opt out temporarily instead of permanently?

Yes. Optoutprescreen.com offers both temporary (5-year) and permanent opt-outs. Permanent is stronger and is recommended. If you change your mind, you can re-enroll in prescreened lists at optoutprescreen.com.

Is optoutprescreen.com safe to use?

Yes. Optoutprescreen.com is the official portal managed and funded by the four credit bureaus themselves. It is the only place to opt out of prescreened offers. Do not use third-party sites charging fees.

What if I also want to opt out of Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion?

You can opt out of all four bureaus in one session at optoutprescreen.com. Check the boxes for each bureau you want to opt out from, and submit the form once.
