Work through this with your agent

Give your agent the published steps, sources and read-only tools. It should check the current official process and ask before taking action.

Check if you are listed on CheckPeople

CheckPeople does not expose a stable public search URL we can prefill, so find your listing directly: open checkpeople.com, search your full name plus your state (and previous states), and copy the URL of the record that is you. The opt-out form usually asks for that URL or the same name and location.

What CheckPeople typically shows

  • Full name and current age
  • Current and past addresses
  • Phone numbers (landline and mobile)
  • Names of relatives and associates
  • Email addresses
  • Background report teaser and public record summaries

An exposure report can help organize candidate listings before you work through the site's official steps.

Step by step

Remove yourself from CheckPeople

7 steps. Use the official site in a normal browser and follow its current instructions if a human check fails.

  1. 01

    Open the CheckPeople opt-out page

Go to checkpeople.com/opt-out. The page may redirect from www to the bare domain; that is normal. Confirm you are on checkpeople.com before entering any personal data.

  2. 02

    Enter your email address

Type an email address you control into the email field. CheckPeople uses this address to send you a verification link; you are not creating an account. The page says it will 'verify you are the subject of the record or an authorized representative.'

  3. 03

    Accept the terms and continue

Check the checkbox confirming you agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and consent to receive transactional emails from CheckPeople. Then click the Continue button.

  4. 04

    Open the verification email

CheckPeople will send an email containing a verification link. Check your inbox and spam folders. Click the link in the email to access the suppression center. The link is what proves you own the email address and grants access to manage your records.

  5. 05

Search for your name in the suppression center

Once you click the verification link, you will see a search form inside the suppression center. Enter your name and state (or city and state for common names) to find your profile. Browse the results to locate the record that matches your age and address history.

  6. 06

    Select and suppress each record

Click on the record that matches you. The suppression center will ask you to confirm the record belongs to you, then show a suppress button. Click suppress to remove that record from CheckPeople search results. Repeat for any additional records associated with your name.

  7. 07

    Confirm suppression and wait

After suppressing a record, you will see a confirmation message. The page says most requests take effect within 5 to 7 days. Re-search your name after a week to verify the records are gone.

What is CheckPeople?

CheckPeople is a free people-search teaser site. It displays a quick preview of personal information for free, and sells detailed background reports to paying users. The site compiles data from public records, property records, and data brokers, which is why your profile may include addresses or phone numbers you never gave to CheckPeople directly.

You do not need to have signed up for CheckPeople to be listed. The site buys and exchanges data from public records providers and other brokers. A profile shows addresses, phone numbers, age, relatives, and background report summaries.

What a CheckPeople listing can show

  • Full name and current age
  • Current and past addresses
  • Phone numbers (landline and mobile)
  • Names of relatives and associates
  • Email addresses
  • Background report teaser and public record summaries

Who runs CheckPeople, and which sites one request covers

CheckPeople is operated by CheckPeople and is not owned by a larger parent company. However, it uses the same backend suppression center infrastructure as FreePeopleSearch.com, Information.com, and Unmask.com, which are related sites under the same operator. Suppressing your data on CheckPeople does not remove it from those sister sites, each of which requires a separate removal request.

What is the checkpeople.com opt-out removal process?

CheckPeople uses an email-based suppression center. When we loaded it on October 5, 2026, the first step showed a single email field and a checkbox to accept terms. No CAPTCHA was present. After submitting your email, CheckPeople sends a verification link. Clicking that link opens the suppression center, where you search for yourself, select the records that match you, and suppress them. The entire process is free and requires no login or account.

How long it takes

CheckPeople states that most suppression requests take effect within 5 to 7 days of submission. Give it a full week, then search your name again to verify the records are removed. If suppression has not taken effect after 10 days, re-access the suppression center or contact support.

If it does not work

CheckPeople opt-out problems and fixes

The verification email never arrived

Check spam, promotions, and any email filtering rules. Then resubmit the form from checkpeople.com/opt-out using the same email address. If email still does not arrive, disable ad blockers and privacy extensions for checkpeople.com and try again in a fresh browser window.

I cannot find my record in the suppression center

Try searching by name alone (no state), or by your phone number or email address if the search form allows it. If the profile still does not appear, it may have already been suppressed or the site may not have data on that email. Repeat the search every few days, as new profiles can appear.

The record I found does not match my exact age or addresses

Age can be off by a year or two in brokers' databases. If the employers, phone numbers, or general address history match, the record is likely yours. Suppress it; you can always repeat the process if another record appears.

My record is still visible after 7 days

Allow an additional few days for the suppression to propagate through their database. Re-check after 10 days. If the profile remains, resubmit your email to the suppression center to file another request or email support@checkpeople.com.

I have multiple records on CheckPeople

Each record from different jobs, locations, or data sources may appear separately in search results. Suppress each one individually through the suppression center. After suppressing all records, re-search to confirm they are all gone.

Subject: Request for deletion and opt-out from CheckPeople database

Hello, I request that CheckPeople delete all personal information it maintains about me, including addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and relatives data, and that it cease selling or sharing my personal information. Name: [Full name] Email address(es): [Email] Current location: [City, State] Profile URL(s) if available: [Listing URL] I make this request under applicable state privacy laws. Please confirm by email once the deletion is complete. Thank you.

After you opt out of CheckPeople

Keep the verification email as your record of the suppression request. CheckPeople re-buys data from public records providers and brokers, so your profile can reappear, especially after a move, job change, or property purchase. Re-check every few months and repeat the suppression if needed. Also file removal requests with sister sites FreePeopleSearch, Information.com, and Unmask, which hold separate copies of your data in their own suppression centers.

Scope

Who does what for CheckPeople

The honest split, so nothing here reads as a promise we cannot keep.

What we handle

  • Organizing candidate findings from the sources configured for your exposure check; coverage varies by source.
  • Providing this guide's free instructions and published privacy link.

What you must do

  • Submit and track the CheckPeople request yourself; it is not one of our removal targets today.
  • Open the confirmation email and click the link -- the request is not filed until you do.
  • Re-check checkpeople.com after CheckPeople states that most suppression requests take effect within 5 to 7 days of submission. Give it a full week, then search your name again to verify the records are removed. If suppression has not taken effect after 10 days, re-access the suppression center or contact support. and repeat the process if the listing returns.
Set expectations

Realistic scope

This guide walks you through removing this one CheckPeople listing yourself; we do not automate it today. It does not touch CheckPeople's other data products, other brokers that buy data from CheckPeople, or the public records the listing was built from -- those need their own opt-outs. Most people-search sites re-ingest data on their own schedule, so plan on re-checking checkpeople.com every few months even after a successful removal.

Manual guide only

CheckPeople is not one of My Privacy Agent's removal targets yet.

We do not file CheckPeople requests today, so the steps above are the whole job. The free scan still shows the people-search and broker listings we can see for your details, and the paid product files the sites it supports; we will not claim to cover CheckPeople until we actually do.

Current service availability and terms are listed on the pricing page. Nothing is marked removed before a provider or native action succeeds.

Common questions

CheckPeople opt-out FAQ

Is CheckPeople legit and is its suppression center safe?

Yes. CheckPeople is a real people-search site, and its suppression center is the official opt-out. The center only collects your email to verify you own the record; it does not create an account. Avoid third-party removal services that charge a fee; the official suppression center is free and direct.

How do I remove myself from CheckPeople?

Use the suppression center at checkpeople.com/opt-out: enter your email address, click the verification link CheckPeople sends you, then search for and suppress each of your records. Most suppressions take effect within 5 to 7 days.

Is the CheckPeople suppression center free?

Yes. The suppression center is free and open to anyone. You do not need a CheckPeople account or subscription to suppress your records.

How long does CheckPeople take to remove my profile?

CheckPeople states most suppression requests take effect within 5 to 7 days. Re-search your name after a week to verify the record is gone.

Will suppressing my CheckPeople record remove me from Information.com or Unmask?

No. Information.com, Unmask, and FreePeopleSearch are related sites that share backend infrastructure but keep separate suppression lists. You need to file a separate suppression request with each sister site.

What if I cannot find my record in the suppression center?

Try searching by name alone (without state), or by phone number or email if the form allows it. If your record does not appear, it may already have been suppressed or the site may not have an entry for that email address.

Can I suppress multiple records from the same suppression center session?

Yes. After suppressing one record, you can return to the search form within the same session and search for and suppress additional records associated with your name.

What if my profile comes back after I suppressed it?

CheckPeople re-buys data periodically, so a profile can reappear after months or years. Re-check every few months and repeat the suppression if you find a new record.

Does My Privacy Agent remove me from CheckPeople automatically?

We do not file CheckPeople requests today, so the steps above are the whole job. The free scan still shows the people-search and broker listings we can see for your details, and the paid product files the sites it supports; we will not claim to cover CheckPeople until we actually do.

Review and change history

A content review or directory snapshot is reference history. A historical route observation does not establish submission, provider acceptance or removal, and does not establish a current working route. Current independent evidence has its own scope and expiry.

  1. · Guide content reviewed against the published sources. This is the recorded review baseline; no earlier editorial change log is available.

  2. · Historical route observation: reachable (HTTP 200). This describes only the page observed on that date; later steps and today's availability were not established by that observation.

Read current independent route evidence. That record reports its own scope, date, expiry and any gaps; this history does not renew verification.
