PeopleSmart opt-out: how to remove your listing from peoplesmart.com
Go to PeopleSmart's official opt-out page (peoplesmart.com/app/optout/search), search your name plus city and state, pick your record, and enter an email address you control. PeopleSmart emails a verification link, and clicking it files the request. It is free and needs no account. Expect a Cloudflare "verify you are human" check first; use a normal browser without a VPN. If the form fails, email privacy@peoplesmart.com.

Remove yourself from PeopleSmart
7 steps. Use the official site in a normal browser and follow its current instructions if a human check fails.
- 01
Open the opt-out page in a normal browser
Go to peoplesmart.com/app/optout/search in a regular browser window. When we loaded it on October 5, 2026, the page redirected to peoplesmart.com/svc/optout/search and showed a Cloudflare "Just a moment..." screen with a "Verify you are human" widget before anything else loaded. Turn off your VPN, allow cookies and JavaScript, and complete the check; it usually passes in seconds in a normal browser.
- 02
Search for your record
Enter your first name, last name, and city and state, then run the search. Try your current city first, then previous cities if nothing comes up. The results show matching records with name, age and location, so you can tell your entry apart from people who share your name.
- 03
Pick your record
Click the match that is actually you; the BeenVerified-family flow labels the button "That's the one". Check the age and locations carefully before you click. Selecting the wrong person's record suppresses that person's listing instead of yours, and you will have to run the search again.
- 04
Enter your email and complete the CAPTCHA
Type in an email address you control and finish the CAPTCHA. The verification link is sent to that address and nothing is filed without it, so use one you can open right away. There is no account to create and nothing to pay.
- 05
Click the verification link in the email
PeopleSmart emails a confirmation message with a link that proves the request came from you. Open it promptly; the request only goes through once you click. If the email has not arrived within a few minutes, check your spam and promotions folders before resubmitting.
- 06
Confirm your record is gone
After PeopleSmart confirms the opt-out, search the site again for your name and city to make sure the record no longer appears. If it is still visible after several days, email privacy@peoplesmart.com with your name, location and the listing URL, and repeat the form.
- 07
Repeat for the sister sites
PeopleSmart shares its parent with BeenVerified, PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, Ownerly, Bumper, NumberGuru, ReversePhone, MoneyBot5000 and FreePhoneTracer. One request does not cover the others, and each site runs its own near-identical opt-out form. Work through the family one site at a time.
What the PeopleSmart opt-out page looked like when we checked
When we loaded peoplesmart.com on October 5, 2026, it showed a "verify you are human" check before the form. Use a normal browser with VPN off; the form usually appears after the check.
This is a dated record of what our browser saw, not a removal. We never submit requests from this page.

What is PeopleSmart?
PeopleSmart is a people-search site. Anyone can type in a name and pull up a profile built from public records and commercial data feeds, then pay to unlock the full report. Typical results include contact details, address history, phone numbers, relatives and teasers of property, court and criminal records.
You do not need an account, and nobody asks your permission to be listed. PeopleSmart was acquired by BeenVerified in 2014 and now operates under the BeenVerified umbrella, alongside sister sites like PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, Ownerly, Bumper, NumberGuru, ReversePhone, MoneyBot5000 and FreePhoneTracer.
People search sites like PeopleSmart are not consumer reporting agencies, so their reports are not meant for credit, employment or tenant screening. But the same listings are exactly what scammers, stalkers and spammers use to find phone numbers and home addresses, which is why opting out is worth the ten minutes it takes.
What a PeopleSmart listing can show
- Full name, age and known aliases
- Current and previous home addresses
- Landline and mobile phone numbers
- Email addresses
- Relatives, associates and neighbors
- Teasers of property, court and criminal records
Who runs PeopleSmart, and which sites one request covers
PeopleSmart is operated by PeopleSmart.com, a people-search service acquired by BeenVerified in 2014. BeenVerified is owned by The Lifetime Value Company, which also runs PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, Ownerly, Bumper, NumberGuru, ReversePhone, MoneyBot5000 and FreePhoneTracer. The privacy contact is privacy@peoplesmart.com. A PeopleSmart removal covers PeopleSmart only; each sister site has its own opt-out form, even though the flows look nearly identical.
What is the peoplesmart.com opt-out removal process?
The peoplesmart.com removal process is a search-and-verify web form: you enter your name and city/state, pick your record from the matches, submit an email address, and confirm through a link PeopleSmart emails you. There is no account and no fee. When we loaded the opt-out page on October 5, 2026, it redirected to peoplesmart.com/svc/optout/search and sat behind a Cloudflare bot check that showed a "Just a moment..." screen with a "Verify you are human" widget, so plan to complete that check in a normal browser before the form appears.
How long it takes
PeopleSmart's own notes put handling at roughly 24 hours once you click the verification link. In practice, give it a few days: re-search your name and city after 2 to 3 days, and again after a week. If the record is still visible, email privacy@peoplesmart.com with the date you verified and the listing URL. Keep the confirmation email as your record of the request.
PeopleSmart opt-out problems and fixes
The "Just a moment..." check never clears
That is Cloudflare's bot protection sitting in front of the whole form. Use a normal browser with the VPN off, cookies and JavaScript allowed, and aggressive privacy or script-blocking extensions disabled for peoplesmart.com. When we loaded the page on October 5, 2026 the check appeared before the form; it passes in a regular browser session.
My record does not appear in the opt-out search
Try previous cities and states, alternate spellings of your name, and any maiden name or nickname the records might carry. If it still does not show up, email privacy@peoplesmart.com with your full name and city and state and ask them to suppress the record directly.
The verification email never arrived
Check spam, promotions and any filtering rules, then resubmit the form once. If it still does not come, email privacy@peoplesmart.com from the same address with your name and listing URL and ask them to process the opt-out manually.
I picked the wrong person's record
No harm done to you — the request suppresses the record you selected, not yours. Simply run the opt-out search again and this time match the age and address history carefully before clicking "That's the one".
My listing came back months later
People-search sites continuously re-pull public records and partner feeds, so a suppressed record can reappear. Repeat the opt-out, and consider doing the same for BeenVerified-family sites, whose data feeds overlap with PeopleSmart's.
The form is unusable for me
The email route works without the form. Email privacy@peoplesmart.com with your full name, city and state, and listing URL, and cite your right to delete or opt out under applicable state privacy law such as the CCPA.
Send this to privacy@peoplesmart.com
Subject: Opt-out and deletion request for my PeopleSmart record
Hello, Under applicable state privacy laws, including the CCPA where it applies, I request that PeopleSmart opt out and delete all personal information it holds about me, and that it instruct its data partners not to return my record in future people-search results. Name: [Full name] Email address: [Email] Location: [City, State] Listing URL: [Listing URL] Please confirm by email once my record has been suppressed. Thank you.
After you opt out of PeopleSmart
Keep the confirmation email; it is your proof if the record resurfaces. PeopleSmart's parent company runs several people-search brands that share data feeds, so a listing removed here can be rebuilt from a sister site. Re-check PeopleSmart every two to three months, and opt out of BeenVerified, PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, Ownerly and the rest of the family while you are at it; that repeat checking is what My Privacy Agent's Patrol plan automates.
Realistic scope
This guide explains how to request the action PeopleSmart publishes for its own site. Reading the guide or sending a request does not establish completed removal. Other sites and original public records are separate; recheck the specific peoplesmart.com page after the site's response and if the information appears again.
Not yet a filed-for-you target
This page documents PeopleSmart's published privacy route. My Privacy Agent Patrol does not file this site automatically yet. An exposure check uses configured sources and does not confirm that this specific site is included.
PeopleSmart opt-out FAQ
Is PeopleSmart legit, and is its opt-out safe to use?
Yes. PeopleSmart is a real people-search service owned by BeenVerified, which registers as a data broker where states require it and honors opt-outs. It is not a consumer reporting agency, so its reports are not legal for credit or employment screening. The official opt-out is free and only asks for an email address to verify the request. Do not pay third-party sites to remove you from PeopleSmart.
How do I remove myself from PeopleSmart?
Use the official form at peoplesmart.com/app/optout/search: search your name and city/state, pick your record, enter an email address, and click the verification link PeopleSmart emails you. It is free, takes about ten minutes, and does not require an account.
Is the PeopleSmart opt-out free?
Yes. The web form and the privacy@peoplesmart.com email route are both free. You never need a PeopleSmart subscription or a paid report to remove yourself, and any site charging you to do it is not the official channel.
How long does the PeopleSmart opt-out take?
PeopleSmart's notes put handling at roughly 24 hours after you click the verification link. Re-check the site after 2 to 3 days to confirm, and follow up by email if the record is still visible after a week.
Why is my PeopleSmart listing back?
PeopleSmart rebuilds profiles from public records and partner data feeds, so new records can recreate a listing even after a successful opt-out, especially if you moved or changed phone numbers. Repeat the opt-out when you spot it, and keep your confirmation email.
Does opting out of PeopleSmart remove me from BeenVerified too?
No. PeopleSmart and BeenVerified share an owner, but each brand keeps its own database and its own opt-out form. You need a separate request for BeenVerified, PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, Ownerly, Bumper, NumberGuru, ReversePhone, MoneyBot5000 and FreePhoneTracer.
Why does PeopleSmart ask me to verify I'm human before opting out?
That is a Cloudflare bot check in front of the form, not part of the opt-out itself. When we loaded the page on October 5, 2026 it showed a "Just a moment..." screen with a "Verify you are human" widget. Use a normal browser with the VPN off and cookies and JavaScript allowed, and it should clear in seconds.

Review and change history
A content review or directory snapshot is reference history. A historical route observation does not establish submission, provider acceptance or removal, and does not establish a current working route. Current independent evidence has its own scope and expiry.
· Guide content reviewed against the published sources. This is the recorded review baseline; no earlier editorial change log is available.
· Historical route observation: bot challenge (HTTP 403). This describes only the page observed on that date; later steps and today's availability were not established by that observation.
Read current independent route evidence. That record reports its own scope, date, expiry and any gaps; this history does not renew verification.
