PrivateEye opt-out guide

How to remove yourself from PrivateEye (2026 opt-out guide)

Guide content reviewed 2026-10-05

Reading current independent checks… See route evidence

Do not rely on the old PrivateEye removal page or PDF. When we checked the listed route on October 5, 2026, it was not a working dedicated opt-out form. Start at the official PeopleConnect Suppression Center, enter an email address, confirm it, search by name, and select the matching report. The center page says it manages reports on PeopleConnect family sites, but it does not name PrivateEye, so follow any partner-site link where your record actually appears and recheck after about a week.

Work through this with your agent

Give your agent the published steps, sources and read-only tools. It should check the current official process and ask before taking action.

Copies public guidance only. You still approve any request your agent submits.

Check if you are listed on PrivateEye

PrivateEye does not expose a stable public search URL we can prefill, so find your listing directly: open privateeye.com, search your full name plus your state (and previous states), and copy the URL of the record that is you. The opt-out form usually asks for that URL or the same name and location.

What PrivateEye typically shows

  • Names and aliases
  • Current and past addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Age
  • Relatives and associates
  • Public-record information
  • Background-report data

An exposure report can help organize candidate listings before you work through the site's official steps.

Step by step

Remove yourself from PrivateEye

8 steps. Use the official site in a normal browser and follow its current instructions if a human check fails.

  1. 01

    Avoid the stale PrivateEye route

privateeye.com/removal existed in the past, but it is now a search page and the old opt-out URL is stale. When we checked the route on October 5, 2026, it was not a working dedicated form. Do not use the old secure PDF linked by older guides.

  2. 02

    Search for your PrivateEye record

Use PrivateEye's search page with your name, city, and state, then note where the result actually opens. PrivateEye routes searches to partner sites. Record the partner domain and the exact report details before trying to suppress anything.

  3. 03

    Open the PeopleConnect Suppression Center

Go to suppression.peopleconnect.us, the official PeopleConnect suppression route. The center page says it manages public-data background reports on PeopleConnect people-search sites. It does not name PrivateEye in the page text, so treat the next search as a coverage check rather than assuming the brand is included.

  4. 04

    Enter your email and consent

Enter an email address you control and accept the suppression tool's consent checkbox, then click Continue. The official center says the address is used to send a verification link. Use the same inbox throughout the process and save the confirmation message when it arrives.

  5. 05

    Verify the email link

Check your inbox, spam, and promotions folders and click the link in the verification email. The email checkpoint is required before the center lets you search for a report. If the link opens a partner page, check the host and continue only if it is the site where your PrivateEye search displayed the record.

  6. 06

Search by name and choose the report

Search for your name after verification and compare the returned report with your age, past addresses, and other known details. Select only the matching report. If the center does not show a PrivateEye-linked record, return to the partner domain you recorded and use that site's own privacy or suppression route.

  7. 07

    Submit the suppression

Submit the request only after confirming the report belongs to you. The PeopleConnect center describes suppression as controlling the display of a public-data background report on applicable family sites. Save the on-screen result and the verified email. A check or search result is not proof that a request was submitted.

  8. 08

    Recheck PrivateEye and the partner

Based on available information, processing typically takes about seven days, so search again after about a week. Check PrivateEye and the partner site separately, because the old PrivateEye page may only route searches. If the record remains, contact support@privateeye.com and include the affected domain and listing details.

What the PrivateEye opt-out page looked like when we checked

Link returned an error

When we loaded the documented opt-out link on October 5, 2026, privateeye.com returned an error (HTTP 200). If it still fails, use the email route or the site's privacy page.

This is a dated record of what our browser saw, not a removal. We never submit requests from this page.

What is PrivateEye?

PrivateEye is a people-search and background-information site. Its searches can surface addresses, phone numbers, age, relatives, public records, and background-report data. Its current page behavior matters: when we checked the site, the old opt-out path had become a generic search page and routes searches to partner sites rather than presenting a dedicated removal form.

That means the record you see through a PrivateEye search may be displayed by a partner site. The practical goal is to identify where the report is actually hosted and use that site's current suppression route. A request through the PeopleConnect Suppression Center applies to the PeopleConnect public-data reports and sites that the center accepts; it does not change other sources, user-account data, or every phone, address, or email result.

Who runs PrivateEye, and which sites one request covers

Available information places PrivateEye in the PeopleConnect suppression family, though past records describe a Confi-Chek/PeopleFinders connection. The safer operational fact is that PrivateEye's current search page routes results through partner sites and its old direct opt-out route is stale. Use the partner that displays your record rather than assuming an ownership label proves coverage. The listed PrivateEye support contact is support@privateeye.com.

What is the privateeye.com opt-out removal process?

PrivateEye's old direct route is no longer a dedicated removal form. When we checked it on October 5, 2026, it returned a generic search page or HTTP error rather than an opt-out flow. The current official route to try is the PeopleConnect Suppression Center: enter an email and consent, click Continue, verify the email link, search by name, select the matching report, and suppress it. The center page names several PeopleConnect brands but does not name PrivateEye, so complete the request on the partner site that actually displays your record if PrivateEye redirects you there.

How long it takes

Processing typically takes about seven days, but the current partner route may control the actual timing. Save the verification email and final confirmation, then recheck PrivateEye and the partner that displayed the record after about a week. If the PeopleConnect center does not show the record or it remains visible, contact support@privateeye.com and ask which partner handles it.

If it does not work

PrivateEye opt-out problems and fixes

The PrivateEye removal URL shows a search page or 404

That is the current stale-route condition. Do not use the old PDF form. Search for your record, note the partner site that displays it, and use the PeopleConnect Suppression Center or the partner's own privacy route.

The PeopleConnect center does not show PrivateEye

The center page names several PeopleConnect sites but does not name PrivateEye. Treat that as a coverage limit, not a failed identity match. Follow the result to the partner site that actually displays your record and submit the partner's official request there.

The verification email never arrived

Check spam, promotions, and mail filters, then confirm that you entered an email address you control. Retry the email step once. If the center still does not send the link, contact support@privateeye.com and explain which partner domain showed the record.

Several records match my name

Compare age, current and past addresses, relatives, and phone details before selecting a report. Do not submit a request for a similar name. If the center cannot identify the right record, search the partner site directly and use its listing-level route.

The report is gone from one site but still visible elsewhere

PrivateEye can route searches to partner sites, and the PeopleConnect center applies only to its applicable public-data reports. Check the exact domains separately and submit the partner's own request when the record is hosted elsewhere.

The record is still visible after a week

Confirm that you clicked the verification link and selected the correct report. Recheck the partner domain, not only the PrivateEye search page. Then email support@privateeye.com with the name, city and state, affected domain, and listing URL if available.

Subject: Privacy opt-out request for my PrivateEye record

Hello, Under applicable state privacy laws, including the CCPA where it applies, I request that PrivateEye delete or suppress the personal information associated with my record and opt me out of applicable sale or sharing. Name: [Full name] Email: [Email] Location: [City, State] Listing URL: [Listing URL] Please confirm by email when the request has been processed, or tell me which partner handles the record and what verification you need. Thank you.

After you opt out of PrivateEye

Keep the verification email, the partner domain, and the confirmation date. The official PeopleConnect center says its suppression tool affects public-data background reports on applicable family sites, not every source or every user-data record; related phone, address, and email results may still need separate review. Recheck PrivateEye and the actual partner after about a week and again after a move or new record pull. My Privacy Agent can help organize recurring checks, but the partner site's later readback is what confirms this record.

Realistic scope

This guide removes this one PrivateEye listing once you complete the step only you can do. It does not touch PrivateEye's other data products, other brokers that buy data from PrivateEye, or the public records the listing was built from -- those need their own opt-outs. Most people-search sites re-ingest data on their own schedule, so plan on re-checking privateeye.com every few months even after a successful removal.

Guided handoff, then tracked

My Privacy Agent opens the PrivateEye form and tracks the outcome.

PrivateEye requires a step only you can do (email confirmation). After you authorize a mission, our agent opens the official form with your scan details, hands you that step, records the request as filed only when the site confirms it, and re-checks the listing before anything is called removed. If the site blocks the agent, you get the same instructions above instead of a fake status.

Current service availability and terms are listed on the pricing page. Nothing is marked removed before a provider or native action succeeds.

Common questions

PrivateEye opt-out FAQ

Is PrivateEye legit, and where is the current opt-out?

PrivateEye is a real people-search site. Its old direct removal path is stale and searches can route to partners. The current official route to try is the PeopleConnect Suppression Center. Check which partner displays your record, verify the request by email, and use that partner's route if the center does not show PrivateEye.

How do I remove my information from PrivateEye?

Do not rely on the old PrivateEye removal page. Search for your record, note the partner site that displays it, and try the PeopleConnect Suppression Center at suppression.peopleconnect.us. Verify by email, select the matching report, and use the partner's own route if PrivateEye is not listed.

How long does the PrivateEye opt-out take?

Processing typically takes about seven days, but the current partner controls the actual update. Save the confirmation and recheck PrivateEye and the partner after about a week.

Why does PrivateEye send me to another website?

The current PrivateEye page routes searches to partner sites and no longer serves a dedicated opt-out form. The record may therefore be hosted by the partner, which needs its own suppression request.

Does the PeopleConnect opt-out remove my PrivateEye record?

The PeopleConnect center says it manages public-data background reports on applicable PeopleConnect family sites, but its current page does not name PrivateEye. Check whether your record appears after verification; if not, use the partner site that displayed the result.

Is the old PrivateEye PDF opt-out still valid?

No. Current evidence does not support using it. The old direct route has changed, the PDF-era path is stale, and the October 5, 2026 check did not find a dedicated form. Use the current partner route instead.

Why is my PrivateEye listing back after removal?

A new record pull or a partner copy can make the information appear again. Search PrivateEye and the partner separately, keep the original confirmation, and repeat the official request on the site that displays the current record.

Does My Privacy Agent remove me from PrivateEye automatically?

PrivateEye requires a step only you can do (email confirmation). After you authorize a mission, our agent opens the official form with your scan details, hands you that step, records the request as filed only when the site confirms it, and re-checks the listing before anything is called removed. If the site blocks the agent, you get the same instructions above instead of a fake status.

A content review or directory snapshot is reference history. A historical route observation does not establish submission, provider acceptance or removal, and does not establish a current working route. Current independent evidence has its own scope and expiry.

  2. · Historical route observation: http error (HTTP 200). This describes only the page observed on that date; later steps and today's availability were not established by that observation.
